The term "Chinese Contemporary Art" refers to works that date around 1990 to the present. I purchased my first lithograph (print) in 2002 and have been following this development ever since.
China has some of the finest art schools in the world, stressing discipline and drawing. When the Chinese government turned to the West, the artists were free from censorship to experiment and use all of their talents.
The leading Chinese artists have been well received by museums and collectors in Europe and Japan including Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo.
Now is the time for American and European art enthusiasts and collectors to turn a fresh eye to these Avant Garde Chinese artists.
